Apache Answer is an open-source question-and-answer platform - a self-hosted Stack Overflow you can run for a team, a community or a product support site. This cloudimg image installs Apache Answer 2.0.1 (Apache-2.0 licensed) as a single Go binary with an embedded SQLite database, runs it as a systemd service behind an nginx reverse proxy on port 80, stores its database and uploads on a dedicated Azure data disk, and creates a unique administrator account on the first boot of every VM. Self-Hosted Q&A

Dedicated Data Disk

The SQLite database, site config and uploads live on a dedicated, independently resizable Azure data disk mounted at /var/lib/answer, separate from the OS disk and re-provisioned with every VM.

Getting Started

Deploy from the Azure Marketplace or the Azure CLI, allow inbound 22 and 80, then browse to http://your-vm-ip/ and sign in with the per-VM admin from /root/apache-answer-credentials.txt. The administrator dashboard is at /admin. Apache Answer serves plain HTTP on port 80; for production, terminate TLS with your own domain in front of it.
