Flowable is a compact, battle-tested open-source engine for workflow and Business Process Management. It executes BPMN 2.0 processes, DMN decision tables and CMMN case models, and ships a complete web UI - the Modeler for designing processes and decisions, the Task application for assigned tasks, the Admin application for monitoring the engines, and the IDM application for managing users and groups. This cloudimg image installs Flowable 6.8.1 on an Eclipse Temurin 17 JRE behind an nginx reverse proxy on port 80, backs it with a local PostgreSQL database on a dedicated Azure data disk, and generates a unique admin password on the first boot of every VM. BPM Engine + UI

Execute BPMN 2.0 processes, DMN decision tables and CMMN case models, and design them in the bundled Modeler. The Task, Admin and IDM apps cover task work, engine monitoring, and user/group management.

Dedicated Data Disk

The PostgreSQL data directory lives on a dedicated, independently resizable Azure data disk mounted at /var/lib/flowable, separate from the OS disk and re-provisioned with every VM.

Secure First Boot

A unique admin password is generated on the first boot of every VM and written to a root-only credentials file; the Flowable IDM bootstraps the admin user with it against an empty database. No shared admin ships in the image.
