Kong Gateway is the leading open source API gateway and microservice management layer. This image delivers Kong fully installed and configured, backed by PostgreSQL on a dedicated data volume, with an example service, route and key authentication plugin wired up on first boot. The proxy listens on port 8000 (HTTP) and 8443 (HTTPS); nginx fronts the proxy on port 80 for out-of-the-box browser and curl access. The Admin API is bound to the loopback interface for security (Kong CE has no Admin API authentication).
