## Kopia on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS by cloudimg
Kopia is a fast, secure, open-source backup tool. It creates encrypted, compressed and deduplicated snapshots of your files and stores them in a repository you control - on local disk, a network share, or any major cloud object store. The cloudimg image installs Kopia 0.23.1, runs the Kopia HTML web UI and REST API as a systemd service behind an nginx reverse proxy on port 80, holds a filesystem repository on a dedicated Azure data disk, and generates per-VM credentials on the first boot of every VM. Backed by 24/7 expert support.
Secure, Deduplicated Backups
Encrypted, compressed and deduplicated snapshots with retention policies and scheduling. Kopia also supports S3, Azure Blob, Google Cloud Storage and Backblaze B2 repository back-ends.
Dedicated Data Disk
The filesystem repository lives on a dedicated, independently resizable Azure data disk mounted at /var/lib/kopia, separate from the OS disk and re-provisioned with every VM.
Secure First Boot
Every VM generates its own repository, server and server-control passwords on first boot, written to a root-only file, so each VM gets an isolated repository and its own credentials.
