## ntfy on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS by cloudimg
ntfy is the open-source pub/sub push notification service: publish a message to a topic with a simple HTTP PUT/POST and receive it in real time in the web app, or on iOS and Android. The cloudimg image runs ntfy behind an nginx reverse proxy on port 80 with deny-all access control, persists the message cache and auth database on a dedicated Azure data disk, and generates a unique admin password on the first boot of every VM. Backed by 24/7 expert support.
Dedicated Data Disk
The message cache, attachments and the auth database live on a dedicated, independently resizable Azure data disk mounted at /var/lib/ntfy, separate from the OS disk and re-provisioned with every VM.
Secure By Default
Access control is deny-all out of the box; the admin password is unique per VM and stored in a root-only file. nginx fronts the loopback service so only port 80 is exposed; front it with TLS for production and mobile apps.
