Bring Your Own License
This image ships with SQL Server 2022 Enterprise Core Edition binaries. The Enterprise software license is NOT included. Customers apply their own Enterprise product key on first login:
sudo /opt/mssql/bin/mssql-conf setpid YOUR_PRODUCT_KEY
sudo systemctl restart mssql-server
Without a product key applied, Enterprise features run in evaluation mode for 180 days. After the evaluation period expires a valid Enterprise license must be applied to keep the service operational.
