## Syncthing on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS by cloudimg
Syncthing is the open-source continuous file synchronization program: it syncs files between two or more devices peer-to-peer over TLS, with no central server and no third party. This cloudimg image runs Syncthing as an always-on sync node behind an nginx reverse proxy on port 80, stores synced folders on a dedicated Azure data disk, and generates a unique device identity, GUI password and API key on the first boot of every VM. Backed by 24/7 expert support.
Dedicated Data Disk
Synced folders and the Syncthing index live on a dedicated, independently resizable Azure data disk mounted at /var/lib/syncthing, separate from the OS disk and re-provisioned with every VM. Snapshot it to back up your replicas.
Secure By Default
Device connections are mutually authenticated and encrypted (TLS); the GUI password and API key are unique per VM and stored in a root-only file. nginx fronts the loopback GUI so only port 80 is exposed; front it with TLS for remote administration.
