## Vaultwarden on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS by cloudimg
Vaultwarden is the lightweight, Bitwarden-compatible password manager server written in Rust. Host your own vault and connect the official Bitwarden browser extensions, mobile and desktop apps to it. The cloudimg image runs Vaultwarden 1.36 behind an nginx reverse proxy on port 80, persists the vault database and attachments on a dedicated Azure data disk, and generates a unique admin token (argon2id-hashed) on the first boot of every VM. Backed by 24/7 expert support.
Dedicated Data Disk
The vault database and attachments live on a dedicated, independently resizable Azure data disk mounted at /var/lib/vaultwarden, separate from the OS disk and re-provisioned with every VM. Snapshot that disk to back up your vault.
Secure By Default
The admin token is unique per VM, argon2id-hashed in the server config and stored in a root-only file. nginx fronts the loopback service so only port 80 is exposed; front it with TLS before real use — Bitwarden clients require HTTPS.
