Overview
Apache Solr is an enterprise search platform built on Apache Lucene, providing full text search, faceting and indexing over large document sets. It runs here as a service with OpenJDK 17 and a demonstration search core.
Why the cloudimg image
Solr is preinstalled and hardened, with authentication enabled and a fresh administrator password generated on first boot, stored as a salted hash and recorded in a root only file, so the search API is never left open. cloudimg provides 24/7 support covering schema design, query tuning and scaling.
