Overview

CrowdSec is an open source collaborative intrusion detection and prevention engine that parses logs, detects malicious behaviour and blocks attacking IPs. This image ships it running as a service with the Linux and SSH detection collections and a firewall remediation bouncer enforcing bans in iptables.

Why the cloudimg image

cloudimg preinstalls CrowdSec with its bouncer active and a per instance API key generated on first boot, so attacking IPs are dropped at the host firewall automatically. The Local API database sits on a dedicated, independently resizable data disk, and you drive the engine from the command line, backed by 24/7 technical support.

Common uses

  • Intrusion detection and prevention
  • Brute force protection
  • Host firewall automation
