Overview
Datashare is an open source, self hosted search engine for documents built by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists. It extracts text from files (including OCR of scans and PDFs), indexes everything into Elasticsearch, and provides a clean web interface to search the full text and explore a large document collection.
Why the cloudimg image
The cloudimg image ships Datashare assembled with Elasticsearch and hardened: Elasticsearch and the backend bind to loopback, nginx is the only public listener, and every instance mints its own web password and TLS certificate on first boot. A sample document set is pre indexed so search works immediately. Backed by a paired deployment guide and 24/7 cloudimg support.
