FlatPress is a lightweight blogging engine and content management system that runs entirely on flat files, with no database of any kind. Every post, static page, comment, setting and account is kept as an ordinary file on disk, so there is no database server to install, secure, tune, back up or recover, and a full backup is as simple as copying a folder. From a clean web based admin panel you write and publish posts with a BBCode editor, organise content with categories and a built in search, create standalone pages such as an About or Contact page, moderate reader comments with spam controls, build navigation menus and side widgets, and switch or customise themes and plugins. Its tiny footprint and simple file model make it well suited to a personal blog, a project journal, a small business site or documentation.
cloudimg ships FlatPress already wired to a web server and PHP, so a working blog is ready minutes after launch with nothing to assemble. The image is secure by default and contains no administrator account and no configuration at all: first boot mints a unique administrator password, completes installation non interactively, creates the single administrator account and the per install secret, then proves the new credential signs in through the real login form and that common defaults do not, before it completes. The web server is configured as a strict allowlist that never serves the configuration, the account files or the per install secret, the setup wizard is removed from the image so it can never be re run, and the site is held behind a bootstrap marker until the administrator is created, so no visitor can install the site or register as the first administrator. The base is fully patched with unattended security upgrades enabled, and every deployment is paired with a step by step deploy guide, backed by 24/7 cloudimg support.
