Overview
GestioIP is a free, open source, web-based IP address management (IPAM) platform for IPv4 and IPv6 networks. It replaces a spreadsheet of subnets and hosts with a real inventory system: automated SNMP-based network discovery that walks routers and switches to build a live picture of what is actually deployed, a searchable subnet and host database with locations, categories and custom columns, VLAN tracking, MAC address and ACL/port-usage visibility, and a scheduled-job engine that keeps the inventory current without manual re-entry. It is built on Apache, mod_perl and a relational database, and is widely used by network operators who want a real IPAM tool without the cost of a commercial platform.
Why the cloudimg image
cloudimg ships GestioIP fully assembled and hardened rather than a legacy Perl/CGI installer you have to work through by hand: Apache, mod_perl and the database are wired together and the appliance is answering requests within minutes of launch. No default, shared or blank credentials ship in the image — there is no usable administrator login and no database schema at all until first boot, when a one-shot service builds the complete schema, mints a unique database password and a unique administrator password, proves the new login works and that common defaults are rejected, and only then starts the web server, which stays gated shut until that bootstrap completes. The installation wizard itself is permanently removed once your instance is provisioned so it can never be reached by anyone else. Every image ships with a paired deploy guide tested against the exact build and 24/7 cloudimg support.
