Overview

Vaultwarden is a resource friendly server that implements the Bitwarden protocol, so you can store and sync passwords across the official Bitwarden apps and browser extensions while keeping the vault on infrastructure you control. It gives individuals and teams a private password manager without a subscription to a hosted service.

This image provides a running Vaultwarden server ready to pair with your Bitwarden clients.

Why the cloudimg image

The cloudimg image installs Vaultwarden on a hardened base with the admin interface protected by a token generated uniquely for your instance on first boot and stored in a root only file. Because a password manager must run over TLS, the deployment guide gives HTTPS a first class walkthrough alongside account creation and backups. Every deployment carries 24/7 support.

Common uses

  • A private password manager for a family, team or company
  • Self hosted secret storage synced to Bitwarden apps
  • Keeping credentials inside your own cloud account rather than a hosted vault
