X2Go turns a Linux server into a remote graphical desktop. Users connect from Windows, macOS or Linux with an X2Go client, authenticate over SSH, and get a complete XFCE desktop session tunnelled over SSH and NX compressed for responsiveness on slow or high latency links, with the ability to suspend a session and resume it later from anywhere.
cloudimg ships X2Go preconfigured with a light XFCE desktop on a hardened, fully patched base. A dedicated desktop account has its password generated uniquely on first boot with no default login, SSH stays key only for the administrator, a paired step by step deployment guide is included, and 24/7 support is available.
