Overview
This listing is a collection of separate, one per release and storage layout (filesystem or ASM with Oracle Restart), chosen from the Software version dropdown at launch.
Why the cloudimg image
This image arrives installed, configured and hardened, so there is no manual setup before you can use it. It is built on a patched base, runs with credentials generated uniquely for your instance on first boot, and passes an automated health check before every release. Every deployment is backed by 24/7 support from cloudimg engineers.
Key features
- No default or shared password: unique SYS and SYSTEM passwords (plus PDBADMIN on container databases and the ASM accounts on ASM versions) are generated on first boot before any listener starts
- SSH-only by default: the listener is bound to 127.0.0.1; the guide shows how to require native network encryption or TLS (TCPS) before opening port 1521
- Oracle Database 19c, 21c and 26ai Enterprise Edition, bring your own licence, on a filesystem or on ASM with Oracle Restart: pick one as the software version at launch
Description
This is a repackaged software product wherein additional charges apply for security hardening, secure-by-default configuration and per-instance setup.
What cloudimg adds to every version
- Every image is built by cloudimg on a fully patched Oracle Linux base and carries no usable database password.
- Oracle Database is installed from Oracle's base release media (19c 19.3.0.0.0, 21c 21.3.0.0.0, 26ai 23.26.1.0.0) with no Release Update or other Oracle patch applied: apply Release Updates with your own Oracle support entitlement.
- On first boot, before any listener starts, setup generates unique per-instance passwords for SYS and SYSTEM, PDBADMIN on container databases and the ASM accounts on ASM versions, proves the new passwords work and the old ones are refused, and writes them to a root-only file; if any step fails, the database stays stopped.
- Build residue is removed before capture.
Included products
- Oracle Database 19c EE
- Oracle Database 19c EE with ASM
- Oracle Database 21c EE
- Oracle Database 21c EE with ASM
- Oracle Database 26ai EE

How to choose a version
- Long Term Release, the most widely deployed: 19c
- Innovation Release (supported to July 2027): 21c
- The newest release: 26ai
- Oracle Automatic Storage Management with Oracle Restart: the versions titled 'EE with ASM'
Network and access defaults
- The listener is bound to 127.0.0.1 and the security group opens SSH (port 22) only, so the database is never exposed to the network: connect through an SSH tunnel, which encrypts every session.
- For direct client connections, the guide shows how to require Oracle native network encryption or TLS (TCPS) first, then open port 1521 to your own networks only.
Licensing
This listing includes no Oracle licence. You must hold Oracle Database Enterprise Edition processor or Named User Plus licences covering the instance under Oracle's cloud licensing policy (two AWS vCPUs count as one processor licence when hyper-threading is enabled). Options such as Partitioning or the Diagnostics and Tuning Packs need their own Oracle licences. Oracle Database 21c is an Innovation Release supported to July 2027.
This listing is a collection of separate AMIs, one per release and storage layout (filesystem or ASM with Oracle Restart), chosen from the Software version dropdown at launch.
