Overview
The LAPP stack bundles Linux, the Apache HTTP Server, the PostgreSQL database and PHP into a proven platform for dynamic web applications. Apache executes PHP in process with mod_php, and PostgreSQL provides a robust, standards compliant relational database bound to the loopback interface. It is used to run content management systems, custom PHP sites and PostgreSQL backed applications.
Why the cloudimg image
cloudimg ships the LAPP stack fully patched and preconfigured, with Apache, PostgreSQL and PHP already wired together and ready on first boot. Every database password is generated uniquely on first boot with no default login, a least privilege application database is created ready for your code, the web tier only starts once first boot has minted the credentials, a paired deploy guide walks the whole setup, and 24/7 support is included.
