Overview

OpenVSCode Server runs the full Visual Studio Code editor as a service you reach through a browser, giving you files, an integrated terminal and extensions on a remote machine. It is used to run cloud development environments and to code from any device without installing anything locally.

Why the cloudimg image

cloudimg delivers OpenVSCode Server hardened, fully patched and fronted by TLS so the editor loads ready to work. A unique connection token is generated on first boot with no default login, and the editor runs as an unprivileged user, so the environment is never exposed unprotected. A paired deploy guide tested against the exact image is included, backed by 24/7 support.

Common uses

  • Cloud development environments
  • Remote coding from any device
  • Browser based code review and edits
