Overview

Pontoon is a localization platform for software teams: translation teams organised per locale, projects backed by your own version control repositories, and a translate workbench with translation memory, machine translation suggestions, terminology and a review workflow. Progress is tracked per team and per project, so a release manager can see what is ready to ship.

Why the cloudimg image

The administrator account, the session signing key, the database password and the message broker password are generated on the first boot of every instance and written to a root only file, so nothing is shared between deployments. The database and the version control checkouts live on a dedicated data volume you can resize on its own. The image is pinned to an exact upstream commit rather than a moving branch, and every component is capped to a stated memory budget that the build verifies against the running stack. Paired deploy guide and 24/7 cloudimg support.

Common uses

  • Running a self hosted localization platform for your own products
  • Coordinating translation teams across many locales
  • Keeping translations in your own version control repositories
