Rocky Linux 10 Minimal, a free RHEL 10 compatible enterprise Linux base, with the desktop era and firmware packages a headless server never uses removed.
Rocky Linux is a community owned enterprise Linux distribution built by the Rocky Enterprise Software Foundation to be binary compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10. This is the Minimal edition: the tuning daemon and the support report collector are removed, and the desktop era web console, firmware bundle and boot splash a headless virtual machine never uses are absent from this base to begin with.
The result is a smaller installed package set and a smaller surface to patch and audit, with everything the platform needs to boot, network, authenticate and update itself kept intact.
The cloudimg image is a minimal Rocky Linux 10 base with current security patches applied at build time and no baked in credentials: access is by the SSH key you choose at launch, with SSH host keys and the machine id generated per machine, so no two instances share an identity. SELinux ships enforcing with its policy intact, and unattended updates are armed and proven on a real dry run before the image ships, so the machine keeps patching itself after launch. It gives you a lean, trustworthy enterprise Linux starting point rather than a bare install, backed by 24/7 support.
