Overview
Rocky Linux 9.7 is a community driven enterprise Linux distribution built by the Rocky Enterprise Software Foundation to be binary compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9. This image is frozen to the 9.7 point release: every package is synced to the archived 9.7 vault snapshot, so the platform you certify against today is the exact platform you keep, byte for byte.
It is a clean, fully synced Rocky Linux 9.7 foundation for reproducible builds and compliance environments that must not drift.
Why the cloudimg image
The cloudimg image is a minimal Rocky Linux 9.7 base pinned to the archived 9.7 vault at build time, with SELinux left enforcing both at runtime and across reboots, and the root password locked. No credential is baked in: access is by the SSH key you choose at launch, and SSH host keys plus the machine id are generated per machine, so no two instances share an identity. Unattended updates are armed against the frozen 9.7 vault and proven, so the machine keeps applying 9.7 errata without ever rolling forward to a newer minor. SSH on 22 is the only externally reachable port, and 24/7 support is included.
