Description

## Telegraf on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS by cloudimg

Telegraf is InfluxData's open-source, plugin-driven server agent for collecting and reporting metrics. With 240+ input plugins (system, services, third-party APIs) and dozens of output plugins (InfluxDB, Prometheus, Kafka, Elasticsearch, MQTT, Azure Monitor and more), it gathers, processes and routes metrics from a single lightweight Go binary - and it is MIT licensed. This cloudimg image installs Telegraf from the official InfluxData apt repository as /usr/bin/telegraf, with the package telegraf.service enabled on boot, and ships a clear ready-to-run sample configuration so the VM starts collecting and exposing metrics the moment it boots. Backed by 24/7 expert support.

Plugin-Driven Metrics

240+ input plugins and dozens of output plugins route metrics from one lightweight binary. The sample config collects cpu, mem, disk, system and net and exposes them on a Prometheus endpoint - re-point the outputs at InfluxDB, Prometheus, Kafka or Azure Monitor by editing the config.

Loopback by Default

This is a headless service product. The Prometheus client endpoint binds to 127.0.0.1:9273 only, so no inbound application port is required beyond SSH. Scrape it over an SSH tunnel (ssh -L 9273:127.0.0.1:9273 azureuser@your-vm-ip) or rebind it to a private NIC for remote Prometheus collection.
