Overview
Tigase is a scalable, extensible XMPP (Jabber) messaging server written in Java. It handles client to server and server to server connections, presence, one to one and multi user chat, publish subscribe and message archiving, and speaks XMPP over TCP, BOSH and WebSocket with a browser based admin console and web client.
Why the cloudimg image
cloudimg ships Tigase hardened and fully patched on Ubuntu 24.04, preconfigured to serve XMPP on first boot with the embedded database so there is no separate database to run. A unique administrator account and password are generated on first boot, so there is no default login to change, in band account registration is disabled by default, and every image is backed by 24/7 support.
