Etherpad is an open source editor for real time collaborative documents, where multiple people write together live with coloured authorship, built in chat and a revision timeslider. It supports hundreds of community plugins.

cloudimg preinstalls Etherpad on Node.js 24 LTS behind a WebSocket aware nginx proxy, so it works the moment it boots. A unique admin password is generated on first boot with no default login to gate the settings panel, the pad database sits on a dedicated resizable disk, and 24/7 support is included.
