Overview

Keycloak is an open source identity and access management platform that adds single sign on, social login, multi factor authentication and user federation to your applications through standards like OpenID Connect and SAML. It lets teams centralise authentication instead of building it into every service.

This image provides a running Keycloak ready to define realms, clients and users for the applications you want to protect.

Why the cloudimg image

The cloudimg image installs Keycloak on a hardened base with the admin console secured by a unique password generated on first boot and stored in a root only file. The deployment guide covers first login, creating a realm and connecting an application, plus enabling HTTPS, which identity servers need before production use. Every instance includes 24/7 support.

Common uses

  • Single sign on across your internal and customer facing apps
  • Adding multi factor authentication and social login centrally
  • A self hosted identity provider using OpenID Connect and SAML
