Overview
NixOS is a Linux distribution built on the Nix package manager, where the whole system is generated from a single declarative configuration and rebuilt atomically, with instant rollback to any previous generation. This image ships the current stable release, 26.05 (Yarara), built deterministically from a pinned nixpkgs revision.
Why the cloudimg image
The cloudimg image is a Gen2, reproducible NixOS base: built offline so every VM regenerates a unique machine-id and SSH host keys on first boot, key-only SSH with root login disabled, host firewall locked to port 22, and no automatic channel drift. Every instance is backed by 24/7 cloudimg support.
