TimescaleDB is an open source time series database built as an extension to PostgreSQL, adding hypertables, continuous aggregates and columnar compression while keeping full SQL. It is used for metrics, monitoring and Internet of Things data where large volumes of time stamped rows must be queried quickly.
The cloudimg image is hardened and fully patched with TimescaleDB and PostgreSQL preinstalled and hypertables, continuous aggregates and compression configured. A fresh PostgreSQL superuser password is generated on first boot and stored in a root only file so no shared credentials ship, and 24/7 cloudimg support is included.
