Why the cloudimg image
This image arrives installed, configured and hardened, so there is no manual setup before you can use it. Description
This is a repackaged software product wherein additional charges apply for security hardening, secure-by-default configuration and per-instance setup.
What cloudimg adds to every version
- Every image is built by cloudimg on a fully patched Oracle Linux base with the latest security updates applied at build time, with WebLogic Server installed from Oracle's base release media.
- First boot creates the WebLogic domain with its own encryption salt and generates the administrator password uniquely on each instance, writing it to a root-only file, so no default login exists and no two instances share a secret; the administration console is served over HTTPS with a per-instance certificate.
- Build residue is removed before capture.

Licensing
This listing includes no Oracle licence (BYOL). You must hold Oracle licences covering the instance under Oracle's cloud licensing policy for WebLogic Server. Everything is installed from Oracle's base release media with no PSU or other Oracle patch applied: apply patches with your own Oracle support entitlement. The images include Oracle JDK 21, which WebLogic Server 14.1.2 and 15.1.1 require, used under Oracle's No-Fee Terms and Conditions (operator decision 2026-10-20, d-162).
