Overview

LLDAP (Light LDAP) is an open source, lightweight authentication and directory server with a friendly web admin UI. It exposes a simple LDAP interface for user and group management, letting self hosted services such as file sync, dashboards, wikis, git forges and media servers share one set of user accounts. It is an opinionated, simpler alternative to OpenLDAP or Active Directory for small deployments, backed by an embedded database on a single node.

Why the cloudimg image

The cloudimg image is hardened and fully patched with LLDAP preconfigured on a dedicated data volume, and a unique admin password plus signing secrets are generated on first boot, so no default login ships and no two instances share a secret. Every instance is backed by 24/7 cloudimg support.

Common uses

  • Central login for self hosted apps
  • User and group management over LDAP
  • A backing directory for authentication
