Overview
Portabase is an open source, self hosted database backup and restore dashboard. From one web interface you schedule and run backups and restores across PostgreSQL, MySQL and MariaDB, MongoDB, SQLite, Redis and more, using a server and agent architecture where a lightweight agent performs the dumps and reports back to the dashboard. Teams use it to centralise their database backups, meet retention and disaster recovery needs, and send backups to their own storage rather than relying on a hosted service.
Why the cloudimg image
cloudimg ships Portabase hardened and fully patched on Ubuntu 24.04, with its metadata database and a backup agent bundled on the same VM. Security is enforced from first boot: a unique owner administrator, application secret, metadata database password and agent enrolment key are generated on each virtual machine, and public sign up is disabled so no attacker can claim the open first run sign up before you do. The metadata database is bound to the internal container network only and the agent has no inbound port. It comes with a paired deployment guide and 24/7 cloudimg support.
