Overview
SCM-Manager is an open source, self hosted repository manager for Git, Mercurial and Subversion. It gives teams a single place to create and browse repositories, review code, manage users, groups and fine grained permissions, and drive everything through a clean web interface or a full REST API. Support for all three version control systems ships built in, and a broad plugin ecosystem adds pull requests, code review, issue tracker links, mirroring, authentication backends and more.
It suits development teams and organisations that work across more than one version control system, or that simply want a lightweight, self administered alternative to a hosted forge, running on infrastructure they control.
Why the cloudimg image
cloudimg ships SCM-Manager hardened and fully patched, installed from the official upstream package and reverse proxied behind nginx so the web interface and REST API answer on first boot. It is secure by default: the well known upstream scmadmin default login is never shipped reachable. On the first boot of every instance a unique administrator password is generated and written to a root only file, the default credential is proven rejected, and the network port stays closed until that per VM secret has been seeded, so no two instances share a login. Every deployment is paired with a step by step deploy guide and backed by 24/7 cloudimg support.
