Overview
CUBRID is an open source relational database management system built for high concurrency transactional workloads. Its SQL is deliberately compatible with Oracle and MySQL, so existing queries, tooling and application code move across with little or no rewriting, and it ships with native drivers for JDBC, ODBC, PHP, Python, Ruby, Perl and C alongside a full set of backup, restore and diagnostic utilities.
Why the cloudimg image
A stock CUBRID database is created with two accounts that both have an empty password, and one of them is the account the client uses when you name none. The cloudimg image never creates them: no database exists in the image at all, and a password unique to your instance is set as the account catalogue is created on first boot, into a root only file. CUBRID cannot bind its listeners to one address and its client protocol is unencrypted, so the image closes both database ports at the instance and documents an SSH tunnel instead of publishing a port it cannot secure.
