Overview
openSUSE Leap is a community Linux distribution that shares its core codebase with SUSE Linux Enterprise 16 for a stable, well tested base. It runs the Linux 6.12 LTS kernel and is used as a general purpose server operating system for applications and services.
Why the cloudimg image
cloudimg delivers openSUSE Leap 16.0 as a hardened, fully patched base so the operating system is ready to build on right after boot. SELinux is enforcing by default, SSH is key only with the root account locked, and a systemd timer keeps the VM patched with zypper.
