Overview

The OpenTelemetry Collector is the vendor neutral CNCF pipeline for receiving, processing and exporting traces, metrics and logs. This image ships the contrib distribution with a working sample pipeline wiring OTLP and host metrics receivers through a batch processor to file and debug exporters. Point your applications at the OTLP endpoints and route telemetry to your observability backend.

Why the cloudimg image

The cloudimg image runs the Collector as a system service with health check and zPages extensions enabled and exported telemetry on a dedicated resizable disk, hardened and ready with no manual setup. You edit a single declarative configuration file to receive, process and route your telemetry. Backed by 24/7 cloudimg support.
