Overview

Pulse is a lightweight, self hosted, real time monitoring dashboard for Proxmox VE and Proxmox Backup Server, and for Docker and other hosts. It gives you a single clean web view of your infrastructure: live node, VM and container metrics, CPU, memory, disk and network usage, storage and datastore capacity, backup and snapshot status, and smart threshold based alerts, all updating in real time over a WebSocket connection.

You connect Pulse to Proxmox VE or Proxmox Backup Server with a scoped API token, and to Docker or other machines with the lightweight Pulse agent, then watch everything from one place. It suits homelabs and teams that want an at a glance operational view of their virtualisation and backup estate without standing up a heavy full stack observability platform.

Why the cloudimg image

cloudimg ships Pulse fully installed behind an nginx TLS reverse proxy, so the dashboard answers over HTTPS the moment the instance boots. A unique admin password and a per instance TLS certificate are generated on first boot, with no default login and nothing baked into the image, and the service refuses to start on a known or empty password. The configuration store ships empty, with no monitored targets and no stored API tokens, so you add your own Proxmox, Proxmox Backup Server or Docker endpoints on first use and no two deployments share a secret. The base is fully patched with unattended security upgrades enabled, and every deployment is paired with a step by step deploy guide and backed by 24/7 cloudimg support.

Common uses

  • Monitor a Proxmox VE or Proxmox Backup Server estate from one real time dashboard
  • Watch Docker and host CPU, memory, disk and network metrics with smart alerts
  • Self host an at a glance infrastructure overview inside your own cloud account
