Overview

AtroPIM is a Product Information Management system built on the AtroCore data platform. It gives a business one authoritative record for every product: descriptions and identifiers, a fully configurable attribute model grouped into attribute panels, hierarchical categories, classifications that apply whole attribute sets to a product in one step, brands, channels and localised values, plus the images, datasheets and other assets that belong to each item.

The data model is yours to shape. You define the attributes your catalogue actually needs, choose from more than twenty data types, organise them into panels and inherit values down a product hierarchy, all from the web interface rather than from code. Saved searches, bulk editing, revision history and fine grained access control keep large catalogues manageable across teams, and free import and export modules move data in and out through files or HTTP so the PIM can sit between suppliers, an ERP and the sales channels that consume the data. Every feature is also available through a REST API, so the catalogue can be read and written by other systems as easily as by a person.

Why the cloudimg image

cloudimg ships AtroPIM already installed. Upstream's own installation ends at a browser setup wizard, which on a public server means an unauthenticated page that accepts database credentials and creates the first administrator; this image completes that wizard during the build, over the loopback interface, so no customer instance ever exposes it. The whole release set is pinned to specific stable versions and recorded in a lock file that ships with the image, so nothing floats to an untested build.

The image carries no known credential. On each instance's first boot a fresh administrator password, a fresh database password, a fresh password salt, a fresh encryption key and a fresh application identifier are generated and written to a root only file, and the application is held back from serving until every one of them has been replaced. The database listens only on the loopback interface, a starter catalogue is included so the interface opens onto working data, the job runner is a managed service, and the base is fully patched with unattended security upgrades enabled. Every image is paired with a step by step deploy guide and backed by 24/7 support.

Common uses

  • Centralise product data, attributes and categories in one governed catalogue
  • Enrich and localise product information before it reaches sales channels
  • Exchange catalogue data with ERP, ecommerce and marketplace systems over REST
