Overview
CMDBuild is an open source Configuration Management Database used by IT and facilities teams to manage the assets and services of an infrastructure. You model configuration items and the relationships between them, track hardware and software inventory, run IT service management and workflow processes, build dashboards and reports, and connect to other systems through a REST API.
The READY2USE data model ships a ready made asset, service and process configuration on top of the CMDBuild core, so a complete asset and service management platform is ready to explore and adapt from the first sign in, with full ownership of the data in your own cloud account.
Why the cloudimg image
cloudimg delivers CMDBuild READY2USE fully installed on Apache Tomcat with PostgreSQL behind an nginx reverse proxy, all managed by systemd, so the web console is reachable within minutes of launch and never exposed with a working default login. The image is secure by default: the shipped admin login is poisoned in the image and replaced on first boot with a unique per instance password stored in a root only file, the database password is regenerated per instance, and the PostgreSQL data lives on a dedicated data disk. The operating system ships fully patched with unattended security updates enabled, and every image includes 24/7 cloudimg support and a step by step deploy guide tested against the exact image you launch.
