Overview
The Community Health Toolkit (CHT) is the open source framework used by health ministries and non profit programmes to build digital tools for community health workers. Health workers use the CHT web and Android apps to register households, complete assessment and follow up forms, and see prioritised tasks, even while offline, and their work synchronises to the server when they reconnect. Supervisors and administrators use the admin app to manage places, users and configuration, while app builders deploy their own forms, tasks and targets with cht-conf. This image runs the CHT Core Framework server (CouchDB, API, Sentinel and the web apps) with Medic's default demo configuration, ready for you to configure.
Why the cloudimg image
cloudimg runs the CHT Core Framework on Ubuntu 24.04 from Medic's own container images and compose files for the release, each image pinned by digest, and fully patched. Nothing is shared between virtual machines: the CouchDB administrator password, the session secret, the Erlang cookie and the TLS certificate are all generated on first boot, CouchDB and the internal services are never exposed outside the VM, and only HTTPS and SSH are open. It comes with a paired deployment guide covering cht-conf, real certificates, backups and upgrades, and 24/7 cloudimg support.
