Overview

CryptPad is an open source, end to end encrypted collaboration suite: real time documents, spreadsheets, presentations, rich text pads, code, kanban, whiteboard, forms and an encrypted drive. Every document is encrypted and decrypted in the browser, so the server stores only ciphertext and never sees your content or your password. It is a privacy first alternative to the mainstream online office suites, hosted on your own infrastructure.

Why the cloudimg image

The cloudimg image runs CryptPad as a hardened service behind nginx, with its two security sandbox origins and a fresh encrypted datastore configured for each VM on first boot. No administrator and no shared secret ship in the image: every instance generates its own keys, and you promote yourself with your account public signing key. Paired with a step by step deploy guide and 24/7 cloudimg support.

Common uses

  • Private, self hosted document and spreadsheet collaboration for teams handling sensitive data
  • Real time editing where the server must never be able to read the content
  • A privacy first alternative to the mainstream online office suites for legal, healthcare and research
