Overview

Documenso is an open source, self hosted document signing platform, an alternative to services like DocuSign. You upload a PDF, place signature, text and date fields, invite one or more recipients by email, and collect signatures that are recorded with a full audit trail and sealed with the instance's own signing certificate.

It suits businesses, teams and individuals who need legally binding electronic signatures on their own infrastructure, keeping documents and signer data under their control rather than in a third party cloud. Documents, templates and recipients are managed from a clean web dashboard, and an admin panel gives instance wide control over users and settings.

Why the cloudimg image

cloudimg delivers Documenso fully installed and ready, so the web interface answers the moment the instance finishes its first boot with no setup wizard to click through. The image is secure by default: every secret, the application keys, the database password and the document signing certificate, is generated uniquely on each instance's first boot, a single administrator account is created per instance with a random password written to a root only file, and open signup is disabled so no one can claim your instance by reaching it first. The application is not exposed on the network until it has been provisioned and secured, the self hosted database and your documents stay on your own server, the base is fully patched with unattended security upgrades enabled, and every deployment is paired with a step by step deploy guide, backed by 24/7 cloudimg support.

Common uses

  • Collect legally binding electronic signatures on documents from your own infrastructure
  • A self hosted, privacy first alternative to third party e signing services
  • Send contracts, agreements and forms for signature with a full audit trail
