Overview

Fusion is an open source RSS and Atom reader for people who want their news in one private place. It discovers feeds from any site URL, organises them into groups, and presents articles in a fast, responsive web interface with unread tracking, bookmarks, full text search and Google Reader style keyboard shortcuts. A Fever compatible API lets mobile and desktop clients such as Reeder, Unread and FeedMe sync against it. Fusion ships no AI features by design, keeping the reading experience focused and distraction free.

Why the cloudimg image

cloudimg ships Fusion on a hardened, fully patched Ubuntu 24.04 LTS base with nginx in front, so the reader answers on port 80 from first boot. A unique 32 character administrator password is generated on first boot into a root only file, so no shared or default credential ever ships in the image. Feed and article data lives on a dedicated data volume, and every image is paired with a step by step deploy guide and 24/7 support.

Common uses

  • Private RSS and Atom reading
  • Team release and blog monitoring
  • Self hosted Google Reader replacement
