Overview

i-doit Open is an open source CMDB (configuration management database) and IT documentation platform. It gives IT teams a single web application to document their infrastructure: configuration items such as servers, clients, network devices, software and services, and the relationships between them, alongside IP address management, contracts, licences, cabling and rack layouts, with ITIL aligned change and incident context. Everything is modelled as typed objects with categories and relations, so the documentation stays structured and searchable as the environment grows, and teams use it as the authoritative reference for what exists, how it is connected and who is responsible.

Why the cloudimg image

cloudimg delivers i-doit Open fully installed through its official console based setup, with the system and tenant databases created and the browser install wizard never exposed, so you sign in and start documenting immediately rather than working through a manual installation. On first boot the image generates a unique web administrator password, a unique Admin Center password and a fresh database password for that instance and writes them to a root only file, so the well known default i-doit logins such as admin and admin are never shipped and no two deployments share a credential. Both databases and file attachments live on a dedicated data disk kept separate from the operating system disk, the database and cache bind to loopback only, and every image ships with a paired step by step deploy guide and 24/7 support. cloudimg is an independent image builder and is not affiliated with or endorsed by i-doit GmbH.
