Overview

Jotty is an open source, privacy first app for notes, checklists and kanban boards in Markdown. It gives individuals and teams a self hosted place to keep short form knowledge and tasks under their own control, with no SQL database to run - everything is stored as plain Markdown and JSON files.

Why the cloudimg image

cloudimg ships Jotty preconfigured on a hardened, fully patched Ubuntu 24.04 base as the official container behind an nginx reverse proxy, with all notes on a dedicated data disk. A unique admin account is seeded on first boot, closing the first visitor self registration risk with no default login, and 24/7 support is included.

Common uses

  • Personal note taking
  • Team checklists and task tracking
  • Self hosted Markdown knowledge base
