Overview

openCRX is a mature, enterprise class open source CRM and groupware suite. It keeps the full customer relationship picture in one place: accounts and contacts, sales leads, opportunities and quotes, activities such as tasks, meetings, emails and phone calls, product and price catalogues, and shared calendars and address books that sync over CalDAV, CardDAV and IMAP. It is built on openMDX, a model driven architecture framework, which gives it a consistent object model, fine grained access control and a REST API across every module.

It suits sales and service teams that want one authoritative record of customers and interactions, organisations replacing scattered spreadsheets and mailboxes with a shared CRM, and teams that need calendar, contact and email groupware integrated with their customer data rather than run separately.

Why the cloudimg image

cloudimg ships openCRX as a complete appliance rather than parts to assemble: the application server, its PostgreSQL database, the generated schema and the bootstrap dataset are all installed, migrated and running within a minute or two of first boot, so you sign in to a working, populated instance. openCRX ships several well known default logins out of the box, and cloudimg designs those away. On first boot, before you can sign in, every instance mints its own database password and its own administrator password, rewrites both of the places openCRX keeps credentials, disables the demonstration accounts, and verifies that every default login is dead before the new credentials are written to a root only file on the machine, so no two machines share a secret and there is no default login to guess. The base is fully patched with unattended security updates enabled, and every image comes with a step by step deploy guide tested against the exact build and 24/7 cloudimg support.

Common uses

  • Running sales and service teams on one shared record of accounts, contacts, activities and opportunities
  • Replacing scattered spreadsheets and mailboxes with an authoritative, access controlled CRM
  • Integrating shared calendars, contacts and email groupware with customer data over CalDAV, CardDAV and IMAP
