Overview

Qcadoo MES is an open source manufacturing execution system aimed at small and medium manufacturers. It plans and tracks production on the shop floor: create production orders, schedule and sequence work, define technologies and bills of materials, manage materials and stock, log workers' time and output, and run basic quality control, all from a browser.

It gives a small factory the kind of production visibility usually reserved for large ERP deployments, without the cost or complexity, and keeps every order, recipe and work record in your own cloud account rather than a vendor's hosting.

Why the cloudimg image

cloudimg delivers Qcadoo MES fully installed on Apache Tomcat with a Java runtime and PostgreSQL, behind an nginx reverse proxy that terminates TLS, all managed by systemd, so the web console is reachable within minutes of launch and never exposed with a working default login. The image is secure by default: both shipped default logins are poisoned in the image and replaced on first boot with unique per instance passwords stored in a root only file, the database password and the application crypto key are regenerated per instance, and the application binds to loopback so only the TLS reverse proxy faces the network. The operating system ships fully patched with unattended security updates enabled, and every image includes 24/7 cloudimg support and a step by step deploy guide tested against the exact image you launch.

Common uses

  • A self hosted manufacturing execution system for planning and tracking production orders on the shop floor
  • Managing technologies, bills of materials, materials and stock for a small or medium manufacturer
  • Logging workers' time and output and running basic quality control in your own cloud account
