RomM, an open source self hosted manager for a retro game and ROM collection that scans, organizes and enriches your library and plays it from a modern web UI.
RomM is an open source, self hosted manager for a retro game and ROM collection. Point it at your library and it scans your files, organizes them by platform, and enriches each game with cover art, screenshots and metadata from providers such as IGDB, ScreenScraper, Hasheous and RetroAchievements. A clean, modern web UI lets you browse your collection, manage save files, save states and screenshots, and play many titles directly in the browser through the built in EmulatorJS and Ruffle players.
It supports a very wide range of platforms and file formats, handles multi file and compressed sets, and offers per user accounts with role based access so a household or team can share one organized library. It suits anyone who wants their legally owned game collection catalogued, enriched and playable from any browser, without handing their library to a third party service. You supply only game content you are entitled to use.
cloudimg delivers RomM as a complete, secure by default appliance: the pinned upstream container runs the moment the instance boots, backed by a self contained local database, with no container registry to reach or compose file to assemble. No administrator login is baked into the image; on the first boot of every instance a unique administrator account, a unique database password and a unique application secret key are generated and written to a root only file, so no two instances ever share a secret. The library is captured empty so no game content ships, the instance learns its own public address on every boot, the database is bound to loopback, the base is fully patched with unattended security upgrades enabled, and every deployment comes with a paired deploy guide and 24/7 cloudimg support. RomM is shipped unmodified and the guide links the exact upstream source release.
