Overview

SkillTree is a training gamification platform. You model a curriculum as projects, subjects, skills and badges, your applications report user activity to its REST API, and SkillTree awards points, levels and badges back and renders progress, rankings and metrics for trainees. It is built to add gamified training to an application you already run, rather than to replace it.

Why the cloudimg image

The cloudimg image pins the official release by checksum and ships it with a bundled PostgreSQL, so it serves standalone with no external service. The administrator password, the database password and the token signing keystore are all generated on your own first boot and written to a root only file, so no image ever carries a known credential, and a start time guard refuses to run if a published example secret is in effect. The JVM heap is capped deliberately so the whole stack fits the recommended VM size without swap, and a paired deploy guide plus 24/7 cloudimg support come with it.

Common uses

  • Gamify employee onboarding and compliance training
  • Track and reward developer skills across internal tooling
  • Run security awareness programmes with points and badges
