Overview

Suwayomi is a free, open source manga server and reader. Install extension sources, browse and search catalogs, and read or download manga from a clean browser reading UI, with your whole library kept on a server you own. It speaks the same extension format as Tachiyomi, so the sources and catalogs you already know work here, and reading progress and downloads are stored centrally instead of on one phone.

Why the cloudimg image

Suwayomi ships with authentication switched off, so cloudimg fronts it with a reverse proxy that demands a credential on every request and binds the server itself to the loopback interface so it is never exposed directly. Every instance generates its own administrator password on first boot into a root only file, so no image ever carries a usable login. The library, downloads, extension sources and configuration live on a dedicated, independently resizable data disk, and the image ships fully patched with unattended security updates enabled, a paired deploy guide and 24/7 cloudimg support.

Common uses

  • Run a private, self hosted manga library and reader you control, reachable from any browser
  • Centralize manga sources and reading progress for a household or small group on one server
  • Download and archive chapters for offline reading on storage you own
