Overview
Traccar is the reference open source GPS tracking and fleet telematics server. It receives position reports from vehicle trackers, asset tags and phones, stores them with a complete history, and turns them into live maps, trip replay, geofences, scheduled and on-demand reports, event notifications, and driver and maintenance records. It understands more than two hundred device protocols, so most tracking hardware on the market can report to it directly, and everything the web interface can do is also available through a full REST API.
Why the cloudimg image
The image arrives with the tracking server, its database and an HTTPS reverse proxy already configured, so a working tracking server is available minutes after launch. A deliberate, documented set of device-protocol listeners is enabled rather than the whole catalogue, and the guide shows how to enable the protocol a given fleet's hardware speaks. No administrator account and no shared secret ship in it: the administrator is created, with a random password, on each instance's first boot before the web interface is allowed to start, and self-registration is closed. Paired with a step by step deployment guide and 24/7 cloudimg support.
