Overview

Coppermine Photo Gallery is an established open source application for publishing and managing photos on the web. It organises pictures into categories and albums, supports multi user accounts with per album permissions, and lets visitors browse thumbnails, view full size images, leave comments, rate pictures and read EXIF metadata. Administrators manage everything from a built in web console, with batch uploads, album passwords, e-cards, keyword search and a theme and plugin system for customising the look and feel. Thumbnails and intermediate sizes are generated automatically on upload, so a large collection stays fast to browse. It suits photographers, clubs, families and organisations that want a private, self hosted gallery they control rather than a third party photo service.
